Flintheart's backstory (part 2-3)

Late that night, she packed Flintheart’s things and snuck out of their home into the dark. "Now, Flinty, this is for your own good…I will probably never see you again, but I want you to have a choice in your future. I want you to listen to your heart and make the right choices." She kissed him goodbye with tears running down her bill, knocking on the door to the orphanage outside of town and leaving forever. 

Flintheart did as his mother told him and was admitted into the orphanage…but not for long. Only a few months later, after not being adopted due to “temperamental problems, mood swings, and thieving habits”, he snuck out, living the rest of his life on the run. He had to teach himself to survive in the streets of the growing cities. He became quite a skilled thief, believing the only way he could survive was to take what he needed.
